About Restoration 2020

The Project

In 2005, we completely renovated the interior of St. Patrick's church, taking care to maintain its original design. However, during the renovation, it became apparent that the steeple had to be removed due to structural issues in the tower. In 2019, the Diocese of London approved a plan to restore the steeple to its original form. The work includes:

  • Structural improvements to the brickwork of the tower.

  • Creating and placing the new steeple.

  • Repairing the rose window.

  • Maintenance and repair of the exterior brickwork.

The Cost

The full cost of the project is estimated to be $1.3 million. This cost includes:

  • Structural improvements to the brickwork of the tower.

  • Creating and placing the new steeple.

  • Repairing the rose window.

  • Maintenance and repair of the exterior brickwork.

The aim of this fundraising project is to cover the full cost of $1.3 million required to restore the steeple.

The Legacy

As a part of the fully restored church building, the steeple of St. Patrick's parish will:

  • Inspire people to gather and worship God for generations to come.

  • Maintain a historic landmark as a part of the Irish heritage of southwestern Ontario.

  • Restore the complete beauty of this inspiring work of architecture for all to enjoy and admire.

For these reasons, we are fully committed to restoring the steeple on St. Patrick's church. We hope you can join us in this commitment!
